Welcome to our reading club as a part of the 'Democratic Modernity: towards collective liberation' series organised in collaboration with Defend Rojava Wageningen. This reading will focus on the pamphlet of Abdullah Öcalan, Democratic Confederalism. With two sessions, each of two hours, we plan to analyse this text together in order to gain an understanding of the ideas presented by Öcalan.

Our first session of the readings is on Wednesday the 12th November and the second session on Wednesday the 26th November from 19:30-21:30, both in the Old Library, Clockhouse (Generaal Foulkesweg 37). You are expected to read the text beforehand, and then we will discuss it together. 

In the first session we will have space for introductions, and begin with chapters 1 and 2 (pg 9-21). 

The second session we will discuss chapters 3-5 (pg 21-43).
